Enter a world many years into the future where the beautiful South African landscape has been reduced to a poisonous wasteland, where one can only venture outside with an oxygen mask and a sunscreen suit. Buildings, schools, and sections of remaining vegetation are covered by transparent domes, and deadly robots make sure that nobody leaves the safety of the domes and paths through what remains.
Tamuka is a young boy growing up in this world. His daily companion is a genetically engineered being or Geneform called Mr. Goop. By most peoples standards Mr. Goop is a very old model that Tamuka has inherited from his grandfather. This causes him huge embarrassment and he has to endure the daily school-yard taunts from other students, who nearly all own newer and more advanced Geneforms.
It takes a disastrous event for Tamuka to realise that new does not always mean better, and that love and friendship can take many unexpected forms.
