Enos’ homeland has been dominated; annexed to the vast Kingdom of Berl. The tribal way of life he knew is gone. The chieftains have lost their power, made to swear allegiance to their new the puppet of a distant King. Within the new order of society, Enos and his young sister are marginal urchins; living in the streets, reduced to thievery. Why, then, does Enos feel in his soul that some lofty destiny awaits him, despite his poverty and wretchedness? The balance of the Desert, a woven tapestry of life as old as the world, is being sorely tested by the influx of Berlian colonists and their thoughtless exploitation of Enos’ ancient land. And so, resurrected from the shadowy depths of Shamanistic myth, the Wrath of the Wastes has appeared, to stalk cloven-hoofed over tortured chastising mankind’s greed in a tempest of unstoppable slaughter and destruction. As Enos’ long-forgotten past overtakes him, he finds himself swept into the timeless strife of immortals, baffled by mysteries as old as creation; confronted by nightmarish horrors fallen from the darkness beyond the stars. If he is to fulfill the heroic purpose for which he was born into the world, he and his sister must unravel enigmatic visions, brave the perils of an inhospitable land in upheaval, and grapple with the hallowed wisdom of his four the last of the Shamans, fated to assist in unlocking his recondite destiny.
