Longplayer

"Longplayer" is a 1000-year musical composition that runs continuously and without repetition from its start on January 1, 2000 until its completion on December 31, 2999. Through an exploration of generative forms of music, composer/musician Jem Finer attempts to make sense of a millennial span of time. Accompanied by a CD with three 20-minute fragments of "Longplayer". Essays by Jem Finer, Kodwo Eshun, Janna Levin, Paul Shepheard.
