Necessary Evil

In 1944, Tedtaotao, an orphaned native boy living in a leper colony, must survive as his tiny island of Tinian is invaded by American forces. He has been told by the Japanese that the Americans will torture and kill everyone on the island. After the battle, Ted is thrown into an internment camp, but is released when he uncovers a Japanese spy ring and is "adopted" by the Americans. When a massive force of American B-29 bombers begin bombing Japan from a base on his island, Ted notices a few odd things that put him on to the biggest secret of the war.
Ted must decide where his loyalty lies, with the Japanese who have committed atrocities on his people, or the Americans who are unleashing the fires of hell and killing thousands of innocent civilians.
