These "Eyewitness Handbooks" are pocket-sized reference books. This particular guide looks at dogs, including a look at the evolution of the domestic dog, differences between pedigree and non-pedigree animals, classification, choosing and exhibiting and photographic descriptions of over 300 breeds. For easier reference, at-a-glance information panels, illustrations and photographs are provided for each entry. Text provides information on key characteristics of each dog breed, with master charts, maps, fact boxes and colour-coded panels to help make correct identification easier. Each individual specimen is annotated and captioned.
