Five years after what people are calling “The Event”, Winter is on the run, headed to a place he’s only heard of in his father’s stories about his childhood. He’s determined to make it to North California, where his grandfather lives on a Cherokee Reservation, before he gives birth. But he has to traverse through a ruined United States, torn apart by war and natural disasters, while also evading his ex fiancé, and father of his child.
