The year is 1968, and life is rapidly changing for three young women living in the quarry town of Stoneham, Vermont. Their friends are going off to Viet Nam, the country is torn by race riots, and the old ways that sustained their immigrant parents can no longer protect them. Angie, formerly lively and full of fun, begins to distance herself from her older sisters, and when she begins to take mysterious trips their parents refuse to explain, her sister Connie vows to find out why. Connie's search reveals a tragic and frightening series of events in Vermont history that changed the lives of her entire family years before.
