"Imagine finding a mysterious invitation that invited you to write a letter to the person or persons who raised you as a child.
The letter could be any length and could say anything and everything that you always wanted to say. There were no boundaries.
You would not sign the letter and would not send it to the person to whom it was written. Instead, you would send it to the website address that was printed on the invitation.
If you were one of the few people who, by fate or chance, randomly found an invitation and decided to participate...what would you write?
I'm going to be honest, some of the letters in this book are very hard to read. Their openness and honesty, which at times can be brutal, will make you feel as though you are reading through the pages of someone's personal diary.
But as you read their confessions, accusations, overwhelming joy and pain, keep in mind that each participant has given their permission for their letter to be published under the promise of anonymity. It was their decision to open a window to their childhood and allow us all to look through, seeing the private moments, both past and present, that most families would rather keep concealed."
