Once again Nick broaches subjects seen as taboo in some cultures. 'Joan' covers the terrible, current scourge of Coronavirus, Covid-19, and is 'real time' from Nick's perspective and he tells it as it is. The books' central character Joan, takes the reader through a journey from her birth, to her education in Tuscany, her involvement in people trafficking, through to her salvation. Once again Nick tackles difficult, some would say controversial subject in this, his fourth book.
