In a last minute change of events, Charlie is headed home for Christmas to spend the holiday with her mother, father, and younger sister. She can count on one hand the number of times she has been home in almost twenty years. It comes as a surprise when she runs into a group of friends from high school who not only recognize her, but invite her to hang out and catch up.
While rehashing stories from the past, she meets friend of a friend, Baird, who instantly captivates her with his intelligent conversation, flirtatious ways, and dashing good looks. Figuring what is the worst that could happen, she ends up going home with him—and has a blast.
The next several days finds her happy with the distraction, Baird going above and beyond to show her his true colors with several holiday-themed dates and unexpectedly winning over her family. The only problem: he is falling head over heels for her and she is just looking for a good time.
