Martin Clay needed a vacation. Or so he was told. So, he was taken from the orbiting research station where he spent all his days and transferred to High-Town. But in this far future earth—foundering under over-population, struggling to maintain a civilization with calming drugs and calming surgery under a secretive, cunning totalitarian government—"vacation" may mean some-thing rather less pleasant than Martin will enjoy.
In fact, Martin may have to risk his own life—and earth's—just to remain Martin Clay!
